Whether you are looking to buy your first set of binoculars or even looking for an upgrade, the new Nikon PROSTAFF 7 binoculars in either 8×42 or 10×42 are a good choice.

The Nikon Corporation was started in 1917 and it is safe to say that they have a good knowledge of optics.  They have quality optics from their top of the line EDG Binoculars all the way down to entry level products like the Nikon PROSTAFF 7 as well as everything in between.

Our 10X42 test models are an entry level binocular, but they don’t lack anything in quality.  Out of the box, the housing is a sturdy and rubberized armour coating which provides for a very solid grip even when wet.  They are a full sized bino that fits well in your hand or on a tripod.  Overall size is 6.75” high by 4.50” wide.  They are built with a single hinge which helps to reduce the weight of a full size binocular and they tip the scale at 1 lb 8 oz.  All lenses are multi-coated to achieve the greatest brightness with good edge to edge clarity.  These binos are waterproof down to 1 meter or 3.3 feet for up to 10 minutes so a drop in the water won’t ruin them and we put this to the test during our field testing process.  The diopter for adjusting each individual eye for the user is on the right barrel of the optics and has a center focus adjustment.  The PROSTAFF 7 binos are nitrogen filled and sealed to make them fogproof.  Field of view at 1,000 yards is 314 feet.  The roll up eye cups for those who wear eyeglasses are some of the best on the market regardless of price.  They are heavy duty with 3 specific stops and one is sure to be the correct eye relief for the glasses you are wearing.

These binoculars are priced extremely well and a great value at $199.99, but during the month of August, you can get an additional $50.00 off at the register when you check out.  Taking an additional 25% off of an already great price, make these a must see for anyone looking for new optics.
