Well, it’s hard to believe that it is the first week in September, but well, it is as I make my last push through Alaska at three of our endorsed lodges – Glacier Bay Eagles Nest Lodge in Gustavus, Dierick’s Tsiu River Lodge near Yatutat and Yatkutat Lodge and the Situk River.  This is a little late in the year for me in Alaska, but all of these lodges have told me how great the fishing can be in September, so here we go.  The silver fishing should be spectacular and the halibut fishing in the Gustavus area has been superb this year, with a 482 pounder caught the first week of July and many more monsters as well, if fact, Eagles Nest averages at least one 100+ pounder per boat, per day.  Watch for photos and of course the stories on all three of these lodges in upcoming issues this winter and spring!!!
