Collaboration for 2018 Includes Hunting and Fishing Events Nationwide
Freedom Hunters has been named a partner with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in efforts to hold 24 fishing and hunting events around the country in 2018. Freedom Hunters is a military outreach program for select active duty and combat veterans, families of fallen heroes, children of the deployed and those service members who have been wounded or injured. Participants enjoy outdoor adventures that include hunting and fishing. It joins several other veterans groups in this new program.
Freedom Hunter founder Anthony Pace, four Freedom Hunters Outreach Coordinators and other veteran groups met with Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke and department heads in Washington, D.C., in a roundtable discussion focusing on the special access needs of disabled veterans to Federal lands and ways to offer more outdoor experiences to those who have sacrificed for our freedoms.
“Freedom Hunters was proud to be part of a roundtable discussion about how best to help those that served. We are holding at least 6 hunts on National Wildlife Refuges in 2018. These 6 hunts will impact more than 50 wounded veterans. For many, these hunts will be the first time chasing a target that isn’t shooting back,” said Pace.
Freedom Hunters is a 501(c)3 military outreach program dedicated to honoring those who protect our Freedoms. Our mission is to salute the noble work of our courageous men and women of our Armed Forces. Freedom Hunters reflects the outdoor community’s appreciation to our troops by taking: select active duty and combat veterans, families of fallen heroes, children of the deployed, as well as those wounded or injured, on outdoor adventures. Empowered by help from conservation groups, outfitters, corporations, government agencies, and landowners, Freedom Hunters honors individuals from all branches of the military. It is with immense pride and enthusiasm that Freedom Hunters carries on the American tradition of hunting, fishing, and shooting. EIN: 45-5388947
