I don’t understand that type of giveaway. How is it handled? Federal, state, and local taxes will probably be $1,000 or more. Don’t you have to go through a lot of red tape in order to get a permit for a suppressor? Don’t those permits cost several hundred dollars and take a very long time to get? I you win how long will it take you to receive everything an how much will it cost? Many states have made silencers legal to hunt with. If the Feds would stop being so hard headed it would probably be a lot easier to win a prize like this, but I don’t know how it would have to be handled now. Could someone please explain it?

A pretty good point. I would think you’d have to take the normal channels to get the tax stamp, at which case it seems like it would be a lot of headache. Not to say that would stop me if I won Wink

If I understand the laws right ( as if that’s really possible ) you would have to apply for the tax stamp for the suppressor which costs several hundred dollars and can take up to six months to receive after passing a backround check, but the rest should be able to be sent to your choice of ffl dealer.

I won a suppressor three years ago on Facebook.  I’m going through the final stages now with the ATF.  You still have to go through all the red tape and pay all the taxes.

I don’t think it matters anymore as I got an email this morning stating a mother of a little girl won the whole shebang. I don’t think she is a member of this forum, so hopefully she gets some help working out all the details.

However think of all the steps these people are taking just to post their spam. They have to create and email and then set up a whole profile just to post it. It does show a lot of dedication. lol.

Sad that they don’t even realize how useless it is to go through all that effort.
