I have no knowledge of a Beretta 1301 Combat Shotgun, I guess I will be doing some research to see what Beretta has come out with. Its always good to learn something new.

From what I found on the Beretta website they seem to be very good shotguns, designed for self defense, tactical, or competition.

I’m a little confused, do you only have your name in the drawing if you register in the month of January or have 25 additional posts?

Are we no longer entered with at least one post during the month?

You have 1 entry when you register. You get another entry for each 25 posts you make. Those entries carry over from month to month. You never lose them. If you have them now, you will still have them next December. They count every month. They only go up, never down. Right now you have 1 entry for registering, but you have only 18 posts, if you make another 7 posts you will have 25 posts and another entry, giving you a total of 2 entries and doubling your chances of winning. Hope this helps.

Must have…

It’s kinda odd. My family is big into bird hunting, yet I don’t own a shotgun. Never had the need to. I always just borrowed someone else’s. This won’t exactly be what most people think of as a bird gun, but I have a feeling I could make it work ;)

Wow, that is a beautiful looking shotgun! I am a big fan of the all black tactical shotguns. This would make a great addition!

If you could go ahead and just drop that in the mail, it would be appreciated.. My address is 15090 NW..  oh wait. Right. Gotta be patient. LaughYell

It would be a ton of fun… just a little impractical. I’m not quite sure how conducive the sights would be. I’ve never used anything but a single bead sight. I’m somewhat curious how heavy it is too. Obviously it has a shorter barrel, but there are a few other metal pieces on there that a normal gun won’t. Not sure if it will be heavier than a normal gun or not. I guess I will have to do some google-fu to appease my curiosity.

Just trying to survive. Was in the hospital from Wednesday morning until noon today. Pneumonia. Have to see a pulmonologist Jan.22 for a follow up.

I’m feeling some better. My primary care doctor has me on oxygen, but I don’t have to stay on it all the time. My cardiologist is having a heart monitor sent for me to wear for 21 days, but I haven’t received it yet. I hope my heart rate stabilizes enough that I won’t need a pacemaker. It seems to be doing better than it was the first few days after I got out of the hospital. I haven’t forgotten Sportsman’s News and it’s great members. You’re the greatest.

Wow, what a bummer!  Hope your feeling better soon. Nothing like not feeling good and having to be stationary. I have a family member who went through something similar about 2 years ago, had to be hooked up to the monitor and basically be house bound. Thankfully they didn’t need the Pacemaker and were able to get back out after several weeks. Hope the same for you. Take care

So my understanding is that ALPS Mountaineering is a supplier of premium backpacking and camping equipment to retail stores. Thus I believe my gift certificate will allow me to go to Sportsman’s Warehouse to pick out the equipment in person. So I have already done my research and made my decision. Most (ok all) my camping and backpacking equipment is for family size outings as there are now five us in my “squad”. I don’t, however, have any lightweight one man backpacking type of equipment. So my plan is to get a solid one man backpacking tent, a good mummy (stuffable) sleeping bag, and a backpack. I’ll take some pictures while I’m shopping and give y’all a full spread of the final items. I’ll get pictures up as soon as I get the gift certificate :). Hopefully I can get myself a one man kit for whenever I need to just pick up and hit the road.

So I have been in contact with ALPS Mountaineering all day today getting my order together. I was wrong about getting a gift cert. to go to SW, it was direct line of credit with them. However they are so awesome! There is no tax and no shipping fees included. Furthermore they really hooked it up and extended the line of credit beyond the Mountaineering line and into all the ALPS own companies. This includes ALPS OutdoorZ, Browning Camping, and Cedar Ridge. This extending the product line from beyond tents, sleeping bags, and hiking packs to hunting blinds, rifle cases, hunting packs, camp tables, hydration pack systems, duffel bags, and more.

Just another good example of the guys at Sportsman’s News really hooking us up and making sure they only do business with and provide us with businesses that are truly worth their salt. The communication and customer service with ALPS has been awesome and truly one of those experience where they make you into a return customer just because of how you are treated. My order is going in and now I am just excited to see the end product get here!

Again my thanks to the guys and girls at Sportsman’s News for all the hard work that goes into find the right business that will treat us with kindness!

So here is what came in today. They are splitting my order up as some of it is out of stock.

Today I got a backpack, water hydration system and two camp pillows. Pillows came with a good stuff sack too.

Still to come is a tent, two sleeping bags, and a duffle bag.FullSizeRender.jpgImage Enlarger

Sounds like you’re getting your mileage out of that prize.  Nice work!

Looks good. How small do the pillows compress?

Just for comparison I put them along side the backpack. IMG_0778.JPGImage Enlarger

Nice. I don’t sleep with a pillow at home, but it sure is nice to have one when camping.
