Ya I spent years just balling up a jacket or sweatshirt when camping. I never wanted to spend money on something of this nature, I didn’t consider it camping gear. But hey if I have some free money and need to use up some of the loose change then why not get some little pieces of comfort.

It’s basically what I have told my friends and family. I never really heard of ALPS before. I never went looking for a bunch of gear to buy either though. However next time I come across something I need I will go check to see if ALPS brand has first.

I’ll have to check them out. Best way to learn about a company is first hand word of mouth.

Shipment #2 came yesterday.

A 25 degree sleeping bag and an oversized large camo duffle bag.

Still to come sometime in May is a below zero sleeping bag and a 1.5 man shelter tent.IMG_0918.JPGImage Enlarger

Looks awesome. That prize is providing a lot more gear than I would’ve thought.

I had the same thought.

Was this stuff just not in stock when you placed your order?  Curious as to what’s taking so long.

Thats correct. When I was first put in contact with the company they were gracious enough to open the $500 to all the companies under their brand name. I gave a list of items I was interested in and they informed me that some things were out of stock and that I had two options. I could either wait until they came back in or I could try some replacement items.

I told them I would wait until everything came back in stock. So in total I will receive three shipments, I’ve already had two. They are covering all the shipping costs as well and it has not come out of the $500 at all. Great company! Great deal! Before May is over I will have the last shipment in.

I got my last shipment today. A Lynx 1 man tent and a -20 degree sleeping bag. This ended up being an amazing prize and really helped top off all my camping and hiking equipment. IMG_1225.JPGImage Enlarger

Nice!  Congrats.

Be sure to report back once you’ve had a chance to use it all.

I used the first sleeping bag, the large duffle bag, and both pillows at the beginning of the month for my family’s camping trip. The back pack and hydration system I used for my javelina hunt this year. This fall I will use the second sleeping bag and the one man tent on either my turkey or deer hunt, depending on what the draw results come back with.

That tent packs down tiny! That will be great for backpacking into remote places to hunt. The sleeping bag come with a compression sack?

I was very impressed with how small the one man tent is. It will be excellent to carry around or have in the truck for my trips out by myself or for emergency situations. The sleeping back did come with a stuff sack, I don’t know if I would call it a compression sack. It truly does not compress all that good, but I have other sleeping bags that do. This is still a sub zero bag that will be excellent for the wife and kids on planned camping trips and life’s journeys. I know it will definitely keep them warm.
