Has anyone had any experience with the KEL-TEC PMR-30 pistol? It's a .22 MAG. Auto with a 30+1 capacity. It's a great looking pistol but I was wondering how it performs and how accurate it is.

I don't have any personal experience with this gun, but would be interested to hear from someone who does as well.  I have a friend who purchased one recently, but hasn't done anything with it yet.  That is the first I had heard about a .22 mag auto handgun.  Great concept, I think.

I think they are pretty hard to come by.  The dealer my friend bought his from told him he was fortunate to find it because they never last long when they come in.

I've had an AMT AUTOMAG ll .22 caliber auto pistol that I bought in 1994 so they've been around for at least 20 years. The only problem I have with the AUTOMAG ll is that it will only handle SUPER X ammo. When I first got it I tried some CCI .22 mags. in it and had to send it to the factory for repairs. They repaired it and returned it with a letter telling me to never use any ammunition other than SUPER X. Since then I haven't had any trouble other than finding ammo for it lately.

Beyond the hickhock45 video I saw...

I know nothing.  But I do think it would be a cool little gun to have.

All I know about it is what I've read and that was that it functioned ok but wasn't very accurate ( about 4" at 25 yds.).

I wonder how much of that inaccuracy is due to the ammo?

It seems like the guy in the video above couldn't quite get it dialed in, though.  Hard to tell the distance he was shooting, but some of the smaller targets took several shots before he was able to finally get them.  So there may be something to what you've heard.

I wanted to purchase this gun a few years ago but couldn't find one.  I know they had some problems with it and have since fixed the issues.  I did not watch any of the posted videos but if they are older that could be one of the issues.  There is generally a 12 month or longer waiting list for these pistols and an expensive price tag.  expect to pay between 800-1000 for it.  I did hear from Kel Tech today that they have doubled there production rate from last year which is good news.  Just remember they are a small manufacture here in the US.

Do more than what is expected of you.

The KEL-TEC website lists the MSRP as $415.00. Stores are probably price gouging.

For what it's worth, the one that I know of being purchased in the past couple of months sold for pretty close to that MSRP.

I can't even find one to hold around my parts.  Thanks for the link on the chance to win one 😀

There's no telling how many of those type of drawings I have entered over the years, but the only place I have ever won anything is the Sportsman's News Forums.

I enter gun contests all the time, one a Benelli Nova at a NWTF banquet once.  I have been lucky on Facebook recently.  Have won several things, not guns though.

Good luck. I see that you now have 26 posts, that gives you another entry in the Sportsman's News drawings, doubling your chances in the monthly drawings.Wink
