Told the wife this is more exciting then the day we got married…..she had some choice words for me Laugh

Mr. Dan Kidder already called me back and Friday I should be able to pick it up at my local Sportsman’s Warehouse. I am on edge with excitement. I think this is how I felt as a kid the night before Christmas.

I decided to get some work done and get a paint job. I have never done a cerakote/duracoat but thought I would give one pistol a try. I took it to a local shop, Desert Firearms, and I am really pleased. He does great work there.IMG_1627.JPGImage Enlarger

That looks awesome. Whats does that coating have any sort of texture to it or is it still smooth?

Doesn’t change the original texture of the firearm. It doesn’t add anything to it nor does it take anything from it. Just merely an upgrade of “tactical” color.

Looks nice.  Any idea how durable that coating is?  How do they apply it?

did you use cerakote or duracoat? I have tried both and cerakote is the better choice. It looks better and last much longer. It looks good, nice color combo.

It was a cerakote job, magpul FDE on the top and magpul Foliage green on the bottom. The cerakote should hold up to dings and scratches just as if it was the original color of the gun.
