Colorado Private Land hunting
(Mule Deer and Elk)
Our Colorado Ranch offers the Do It Yourself hunter a great and rare opportunity to hunt private land with great access to BLM and National Forest through our land. The private land makes it very difficult for outside hunters to gain access to these lands. We do not do any guiding.
Our hunts are in unit 42 of Colorado. ALL Mule deer tags in Colorado are a DRAW HUNT. You can usually draw this unit for mule deer, but its not guaranteed. Elk tags can be over the counter, however muzzle loader elk, and rifle first season are draw hunts for elk. All our hunts are for either species or combo. You can hunt one or both for the same price.
We offer an amazing 5 star lodge, all food and non-alcoholic beverages provided. Our food is fantastic and we will cater to your dietary needs. Our lodge is unlike any other place you have had the pleasure of staying in. You will honestly be so comfortable some days you will have to force yourself to go hunting instead of relaxing in the lodge. We have 4 private individual bedrooms, TVs in the lodge, a bar where you can bring your own beverages to drink at the 5 o’clock saloon, Wi-Fi and anything else you can imagine.
Our property has almost 1000 private acres in the beautiful area of Rifle, Colorado. The property is 15 minutes out of Rifle, CO. We are one hour east of Gunnison and 3 hours west of Denver. The property is mountain timber, juniper / cedar thickets, and agricultural fields. The mature bulls range from 220-310+. The applications are due in April, please check to make sure so you can apply for the appropriate tags.
Montana Do-It-Yourself (Non Guided Hunts)
(Whitetail Deer, Elk, Mule Deer)
Our Montana ranch is located on the Thompson River just below the Thompson Lakes. The Thompson River Ranch is a heritage, working cattle ranch, nestled in the scenic Thompson Valley, sixty miles west of Glacier National Park in the Northwest Corner of Montana. Long ago the American cowboy legend was born: riding the range, pushing cows, and living off the land. Thompson River Ranch was homestead over 120 years ago and we are the third family to have the privilege of protecting this 6,000-acre pristine ranch. We maintain the vibrant ecosystem which includes a water system of irrigation ditches sourced by glacier fed lakes and natural springs that the original owner painstakingly dug by hand over 100 years ago. The landscape is prime deer and elk habitat with the natural grasses in the valley. The animals come down from the surrounding mountain peaks and dine on the lush green grass in our pastures. Many of the white tail deer never leave the ranch. The elk and mule deer sometimes stay on the ranch, while more move in and out from the surrounding timber mountain peaks.
Washington Private Land Guided hunting
(Whitetail Deer, Mule Deer, Elk, Moose, Turkey, Bear)
GUIDED HUNTS: Our hunts are all conducted on private land in the Spokane WA area. We have numerous tracks of land to hunt with opportunities at the game we are after. We do not hunt on public land, keeping the competition down and our success rates up. Our locations have provided numerous quality animals over the years. We will also take your harvest to the local processor if you choose, where you will be responsible for all butchering costs including shipping if need be. There is also a local taxidermist who for a small fee can cape your trophy and prepare it to be shipped or returned back to you. All prices are PER PERSON. We do not provide food or accommodations on any of our Washington hunts. Based on where we will be hunting we will coordinate with you the best place to stay.

Many people have stayed away from hunting Idaho because of the wolf problem. I’m one of those people and haven’t hunted the state for half a dozen years.
A visit to M2D Camo Properties in south central Idaho owned by Michael (Sparky) Sparks for the 2015 archery elk season quickly changed my mind about the status of the elk herd. Sparky has over 25,000 acres of the finest farm ground where these elk call home to hunt. From the very first day we set foot on the ranch we were covered up with elk. Sparky has hunted this area for over ten years and to say that he knows his elk would be an understatement. When they would leave the fields in the morning, he knew where they were headed and knew where to be in the evenings as well. An archery hunter needs many opportunities to be successful because of wind, too many eyeballs, and just bad luck and this place is loaded with opportunities. Nearly every hunter at the ranch regardless of experience had an opportunity at a bull or two on a daily basis. If you chose to target a big herd bull as did we, that option was available as well. I wouldn’t consider it a place where I would go to harvest a giant, but rather a great place for lots of opportunity and bulls up to that 350 class.
The ranch is loaded with whitetail deer, antelope, mule deer, bears, moose, and obviously elk. So, regardless of your desire to hunt, Sparky has a hunt for you. The accommodations are what we would consider rustic ranch, but comfortable and dry. The food is great and the camaraderie is second to none. Sparky and his guys are a lot of fun and always willing to go the extra mile to make your trip the best it can be.
Idaho archery elk, whitetail, and bear tags are over the counter in this unit and provides a great opportunity to hunt if you don’t get fortunate enough to draw any limited entry tags. The rifle elk hunt is a true premium limited entry hunt, but you can apply late in the application season. If you are fortunate enough to draw a tag, you are in for an elk hunt of a lifetime. My favorite hunt here would be to do an archery elk hunt and apply for the archery antelope tag during the application process. It is 100% draw odds and gives you something to do during the day when the bulls are bedded up. There are some great antelope in this area as well. There are limited landowner vouchers available on this ranch for several species, but they sell very early.
